Hmm ... Sheer Heart Attack eh ? Well, I think I always worried a little bit about that album title. I wondered if it might upset some people who had actually had heart attacks. I’m actually quite relieved now that I’m in that club - and I don’t find it upsetting at all ! Take. care folks. And ... why did those discs in my spine get so squished? Well I think 50 years of running around with a guitar strap over my left shoulder holding a heavy guitar might have something to do with it ! But it probably WAS all worth it ! Bri

#jamwithBri . Very rough and ready, this, and, without any accompaniment, you can hear all the places where I’m struggling to get sustain from the little amp, and the moments when my fingers, already soft from inactivity, complain about the bending of the strings !! But this is reality - and I hope it’s helpful for all of you folks who asked for a version of this tune here. My ramblings afterwards are about my concept of expanding coronavirus-free bubbles - which may perhaps start some discussion. I actually thought of it a couple of weeks ago but I was in too much pain to video it. I’m planning to put an account of my whole recent story up. I thought it was way too long and involved to put on Instagram or IGTV, but in the end this is probably the most personal way of doing it.. Cheers all - Bri

I’ve got some great help with pain management and rehabilitation. Today I can sit and potter slowly around holding on to things with almost no pain. It’s incredible what real pain does to you. I’ve always been a bit of a big shot about my tolerance to pain levels - like not getting Novocaine jabs at the dentist or whatever - But this nerve pain which came to inhabit my body about three weeks ago - no, it wasn’t a glute thing after all - has paralysed my brain. I felt it took over my personality. I woke up feeling that somehow the pain WAS me, and I was struggling to get back in my body. And I did give in and take the heavy duty painkillers, and in the end I was in a nightmare world. The only thing to do was kick it all and come out. But I could only do that because I got some great physio help and some osteopathy. I’ll tell you the whole story sometime, but for now ... happy weekend - I hope everyone of you can find a spot to enjoy the life-giving sunshine. Bri

My first walk in the park since this all began. My ... the air feels good ! Sky is blue - sun is clear and bright and warm and the breeze is cool. White fluffy cloud scud over my head. But I’m dependent on these ‘crutch’ devices to get around. There’s always ONE snag !! Well, not for long, hopefully. I’ve been through these scrapes plenty of times before. They make you stronger, right ?! If they don’t kill ya !! Well, I’m not planning to check out just yet !!! Rock on out there !! Isolate !!! Photo by Phil Webb, who bought me an ice cream - Thanks Phil - lovely day !!! Bri

Rockin’ it Up. Well, this is just a small fragment - and really not premeditated at all. But it’s the kind of sketch that I’ve been putting down on Walkman tape recorders and Philips N2011’s and pocket dictation machines for years if an idea like this came into my head, so that some day I could return and turn it into a song. So please feel welcome to call it #jamwithbri . But you might need to listen to it a few times to figure out its time signature, and where the ‘one’ is. It’s one of those riffs that fascinate me, which return to a different position in the bar every time they come around. So the riff might sound like 3/4 at first but in my head I’m counting 4 to the bar. It’s fun, I think. This is the kind of thing which goes around in ancient rock stars heads the whole time. And I mean ‘the whole time’ ! Sorry I didn’t get my fingers in shot - I’m obviously out of practice ! But ... Enjoy ! I missed you all - but times have been tough. It was tough to get as far as brushing my teeth some days (and shaving was WAY too difficult, as you can see !! ) so playing guitar was out of the question. BUT !!! Hello again Dear Pals !!! How yo’all doin ?! Bri

💥💥💥💥 Had to share this beautiful time exposure by my dear astrophotographer friend Jamie Cooper @jamiecooperphotography You might like to ask your kids, or your younger bro’ or sis’ ... “What is going on here ? What is moving ?“ See what answers you get ! Jamie’s vision was to juxtapose Cosmic motion with Human motion. So how long do you think this exposure was ?! What does it make you think ? Enjoy ! And there’s a lot more great astro photos on Jamie’s IG. 💥💥💥💥 —- OK folks - answers to our questions from the photographer himself.: “ I wanted to show the motions of man and nature in one picture. It was tricky to process. Two hours of data for the stars. Four and a half minutes of time for the traffic - otherwise the headlights would have filled the road with a block of colour.” Thanks Jamie. And the answer to the question “What is moving?’ - well, EVERYTHING, of course! The Earth spins on its axis once every 24 hours, so the stars, viewed from the Earth’s surface, appear to wheel around us. If a camera lens is left open, the stars will leave beautiful trails like this. Jamie‘s camera was firmly fixed to planet Earth, so it, too, was spinning at the rate of 15° per hour. The camera was pointed facing roughly North, which is why you see all the trails centring around one point, the pole star. Except the Pole Star isn’t exactly at the North Polar point, so it, too, describes a very small circle, as you can clearly see here. Of course the Earth is also moving around the Sun, and the Sun is moving around the centre of our galaxy, quite far out in one of the spiral arms. So there is actually a lot of movement going on. However, Einstein has taught us that all motion is relative. So, it’s hard to place an absolute value on the speed with which we are moving through the universe. Coming back down to Earth, we come to the only motion in this photograph produced by humans – the cars. We think we are very powerful, speeding around in our machines, but actually all our motions on this planet are infinitesimally small compared with the motions of everything out there in the Solar System. Here they are close, so they look big ! Bri

#JamwithBri . This is the backing track I sent to @kerryellis79 , two weeks ago for her live IG concert. Yes... there’s a story. Give me a little while. But meanwhile, if you’re in the bath (or even if not! ) have a sing of this wonderful dramatic ditty !! 💥💥💥💥 Well, the story is that Kerry had asked me for a track to duet with, and we thought about this one - because it’s a favourite from our touring days, and it’s very dramatic. However, Kerry was a little concerned that the range of power that this track demands might be a little too much for the home situation where she was singing. So I promised her I would send her a quick demo track so she could try it out, and see if it would work. Unfortunately, that was the day when I injured myself, working in the garden, and at that moment, the pain in my hip and leg was getting worse and worse. There were still a few days to go before the track was needed, and I wondered if I should just leave it for a little while, until I felt better. But somehow I had a premonition that I was not going to feel better for a long time. So I hobbled into my ‘music room’, as it has become in lock-down, plugged in the guitar, and played the backing track just once, with a rather amusing error at the end. I sent it off to the amazing @kerryellis79 , with the message “Obviously this is not good enough to use, but it might be good enough to try see if it works.“ Well, my premonition came true, and sadly I have not touched a guitar since that moment. It probably seems like I have, if you’ve been watching my Instagram, but the recent posts have all been from earlier times. So Kerry, being the great professional that she is, used the track that I sent as the final version, and managed to share the joke at the end beautifully. Well, that’s the story. But what’s the missing part of the story? What really happened to me in the last couple of weeks? Well, you couldn’t make it up, but I’ll tell you soon. For now, I’m just gonna tell you I’m definitely going to be all right !! Bri

Sung by @kerryjaneellis79 last week in her live IG concert Number 3. An amazing performance by the luminous Kerry of a song we often did live together in tour in those Golden Days. My track is very imperfect - but I like the spontaneity of a Take-1 trial. There’s a story there - tell ya later. For now, dear folks, just enjoy this perfectly dramatic song, in a true ‘moment’. Wish I’d written it !!! 😊 Bri

I’m so touched by every one of these visualisations - BE SURE TO KEEP SWIPING, dear folks ! Each one restores a piece of me tonight as I wrestle with the physical pain which has settled on me the last few days - so strong and so persistent that I hardly feel alive. I will take these lovely visions with me as I search for healing sleep tonight. THANK YOU !!! Thank you @sarah_rugg for the first one - beautifully subtly alive and almost breathing - and for collecting the others in this post. Thanks @sugarxsnow3 - exquisite ! I want it on my wall ! Thanks @nymph_in_yellow - thanks @elisa .kent_draws - thanks @remembered .my.art - thanks @chaoskirin - thanks @space .in.tea. - thanks @mc_artistyk All of these are so inspiring, offering me a mirror image for my soul which no ordinary looking-glass can supply. With much love and thanks - Bri

ARIELLE !!! Ouch !! I basically want to share everything this lady ever does !! So I had to repost this - irresistible ! She’s taken this solo (that I seem to know well! ), thrown away the music sheets, and interpreted it in totally her own style - at the same time building on the original spirit of the piece. Her tone is incredibly beautiful - very unusual in its sweetness, and at the same time a tough voice. Her expression and phrasing ? Gotta say - unique. Visit @officialarielle any time for treats. And SOON we will have the long-awaited BM/Arielle guitar on sale at BrianMayGuitars. Bri

Take exactly 2 minutes to watch this adventure in spilt red wine to its conclusion, and I guarantee you’ll gasp ! Beautiful work from @rossellabisazza - how great to discover a great new talent - well, new to me - I shall be following !! THANK YOU Rosella - what a wonderful compliment. 💥💥💥💥 I don’t know which concert this improvised solo piece of mine comes from, but it makes a perfect soundtrack to this visual magic. Great job !!! Finally thanks to my dear friend RAFFA for communicating this to me. Thanks for asking how I’ve been. I’ve been facing some ... challenges ... which I’ll tell you about in due course, which have made my MicroConcert activity impossible - but it’s nice for me to be able to use this as a moment to highlight the talents of other artists. Take care out there folks. 💥💥💥💥 Ah ! Thanks @Sarah_rugg - apparently this is Wembley ‘86 - second night. I wonder if such nights will ever happen again ... Bri

This is lovely ! I see so many versions of this song (how lucky are we! ) - but this one is very appealing to me - just the joy of the sound, but also I love how the choral harmonies reflect the changing chord patterns that would be going on underneath. Fabulous ! Thank you @maryf .3d for kindly letting me steal this ! Stay safe out there guys. I’m not able to communicate much right now - just need to rest up for a while. Wishing you all well. 💥💥💥💥. This wonderful choir is called QUEENCUBO. They are a group of art students from highschool in Rome. Thanks for this info @comunitaqueeniana - and all hail @QUEENCUBO ! Bri

This is a report from @plantbasednews - an organisation dedicated to phasing out animal sources of food for human consumption. I’m reproducing it wholesale here because I believe this is a discussion which must now be had at the highest level in all countries. You may feel that some of the narrative here is simplistic, and of course it’s always wise to fact-check an account like this that is written from a ‘campaigning’ point of view. Nevertheless I strongly believe we must all now radically re-examine the whole question of humanity’s diet - for the health of the planet, for urgent ethical animal welfare issues, and for the very survival of the Human Race. For more information I recommend following these people on Instagram. Knowledge is power !! And ... THIS IS THE MOMENT to have this discussion. If you agree - please write to your MP and tell him/her you want this discussed seriously and urgently in Parliament. Things CAN change. Bri

#RethinkBritain —- Let’s require our leaders to rebuild a New Britain based on Compassion, Common Decency and Respect for all creatures. How can we apply what we have learned during lockdown ? Write and tell me. Is it appropriate in the New World to fly WATER around the world ? It’s H20, for God’s sake ! Will it be appropriate for businessmen to fly from London to New York for a business meeting which we now know can be done by ZOOM ? There must be a million ways we can cut down pollution by adopting new ‘normal’ rules. Tell me. Now we KNOW it’s possible to change - and we KNOW it’s essential, for our health and the health of the Planet. Bri

No MicroConcert tonight - just a micro-rant. Not very coherent, I’m sure - I’m tired and in pain - but an attempt to say - before it’s too late - “Wake up Britain” - and “Rise to the occasion, Boris”. The world we had before this CoronaVirus was not good enough. We need a radical rethink. If you agree ... DO something about it !!! Make your voice heard !!! Time to #RethinkBritain - Bri

Reality check ! For me. No - the Virus didn’t get me yet - thank God. Hope you’re all keeping extra-safe out there. A decision to relax controls doesn’t suddenly make the danger go away. But me ?? Yes, I’ve been quiet. Reason ? As well as getting over-stretched and harassed by too many demands ... I managed to rip my Gluteus Maximus to shreds in a moment of over-enthusiastic gardening. So suddenly I find myself in a hospital getting scanned to find out exactly how much I’ve actually damaged myself. Turns out I did a thorough job - this is a couple of days ago - and I won’t be able to walk for a while ... or sleep, without a lot of assistance, because the pain is relentless. So, folks ... I need to go dark for a while, getting some complete rest, at home. Please, please don’t send me sympathy - I just need some healing silence for a while. I’ll be back - but I need the complete break. OK ? Thanks. Take care out there. Bri
