Hey love 👋🏼 💟 I'm not sure who needs to hear this today, but don't doubt what you bring to the table. Some will gather & some will excuse themselves from the table. That's okay. 💟 That doesn't mean that you don't have something that can be a blessing to them that they don't realize yet. Be persistent. 💟 Those who see your authentic slightly crazy self 😜 that they can relate to will be more enthused to accept the seat. Fill up their glass. 💟 Fill them up with your positivity, boldness, affirmations, resources, energy, and conversations that feel like they just had a massive breath of fresh air. Affirm them. 💟 Let them know that they are planted 🌱 in a safe place in your presence. Be someone they can confide in. Someone they can seek a genuine friendship with. Someone that reassures them that you are rooting for their best success. Be that person. #Jesssayin #bringitall #pullupaseat #cometothetable #thereisroomforyou #affirm #uplift #fill #plant #grow #aspiretobeyou #bestversion #health #glowon #modbod #idontmeanmodel #Imeansafeliving #inspire #nurse #cardiacnurse #hearthustler #soulsis #yogirlJess #overflowthatcup #explodeemwithjoy

Anxious faces. ARE MY FAVORITEE!⁣ And one of my best friends gifted me this amazing print capturing Luna’s anxious face 😂 ⁣ Maybe because I can relate too much with feeling like a deer in the headlights and totally look that way as I’m standing in the hallway debating how to phrase what I need from new coworkers and providers.⁣ ⁣ I know I’m not the only one, so anxious new icu nurses unite!⁣ ⁣ I find myself constantly trying to balance and keeping myself sane from social media/work/family/ doing the organizing and cleaning I may seem to always be doing/thinking of how to organize new content... I decided that because I am better with words and want to be able to post and not scroll after, I’m starting a blog to share what I love and particularly my journey from an Asian American point of view. ⁣ It’s something I’ve been wanting to do for the longest time now but kept pushing it off because of insecurities I have. But even more so why I want to do it cause we all have them. You’ll be hearing from me 2x/week and you’ll be getting updates over here! Excited to launch, now brb as I figure out how to design it.

echo_lady She posts the coolest stuff! Check this out. When you're looking at the echo images, the heart is upside down. The left side is on the right, and the right on the left. Notice that the right atrium has TWO parts! There is dividing tissue! Isn't that crazy? See her explanation below: ... •Cor triatriatum dexter? / Elongated eustachian valve?•. ⠀ Cor triatriatum dexter is a rare congenital heart anomaly where the right atrium is divided into two chambers by a membrane. ⠀ What do you think?. ⠀ #Echocardiogram #Echocardiography #Cardiology #Cardiologia #CorTriatriatum #congenitalheartdefect #congenitalheartdisease #Heartdisease #cardiacnurse #nurseblogger #visualstoryteller #cardiology #pulmonology #npstudent #learn #heart

💔When a heart attack leads to sudden death. . Usually when people talk about someone “dropping dead” of a heart attack, it is due to an arrhythmic sudden death that follows a STEMI (ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction, when there is a sudden 100% occlusion of s coronary artery ). Although most STEMIs are treated effectively and quickly, we can never predict who will develop an arrhythmia and when. . Here is an example of an EKG that caught someone amidst a STEMI who subsequently went into VF arrest. . 1️⃣The first few beats are sinus with evidence of ST elevations. 2️⃣This is followed by a PVC hitting the right spot of the T wave in an ischemic, electrically sensitive heart (R-on-T ). 3️⃣ As a result, the next several beats are polymorphic VT - typical of ischemia. 4️⃣ Finally you can see the polymorphic VT transition into its more unstable cousin - ventricular fibrillation. . At this point nothing will help but defibrillation followed by prompt revascularization! Hopefully by the time this happens the patient is in the hands of health care providers and not hiking in the woods or reaching for the phone to call 911... . . Have you ever seen someone go into VF in front of you?? ——

There is research on how stress can cause physical illness. There are simple things you can do to reduce your stress: meditate, spend time outdoors, journal your thoughts and feelings. Download this free app and have access to current recommendations on various heart conditions and diseases. There are articles as well as videos. Welcome to my reality right now in south Texas. Our "facility" started out as two sattelite rehab buildings outside of a main hospital that were converted into "Serious Infectious Disease Units" (read: All COVID, all the time ). We started off with about 50 beds and each room was designed to be private rooms (read: one ethernet connection for remote vitals, one wall oxygen mount ). This past week, they started rolling in the beds to make them double rooms. What wasnt taken into account was that forking the oxygen wall mounts between, say, a hi flow NC and a BiPAP, was too much demand on a suspicious oxygen supply to begin with. (We've had a couple people die already from the oxygen just straight up giving out ). Now, we have dozens of giant H tanks that RT wheel down and get picked up, filled up and dropped back off all day, everyday. Hence, having to be ready at any given moment to replace switch tanks as somebody is gasping on an empty tank (reminder, only one person gets remote vitals monitored ). . . Having done NYC and this, the main differences myself (and others here ) have seen is that the people here aren't nearly as sick as in NYC (I've read some interesting things about this being a less lethal but more infectious mutation ). However, things are much more disorganized and ill-equiped (at least in this facility ) that although I have less patients, I feel much busier. Plus, it's pretty hot even with A/C units scattered around pumping cool air. There is also a tarp duct taped ceiling to floor on one end separating us from the construction of more rooms (seems safe ). . . I know it sounds like I'm complaining but, honestly, I'm thriving off all this. It's hard work but to me it is such a worthwhile experience where I'm really putting my skills to the test. If you ever have any questions, feel free to reach out! . . #nursesofinstagram #nursingstudent #rnlife #rnsofinstagram #travelnurse #medicalmemes #nurses #nursingstudentproblems #nurseproblems #nursepractitioner #doctormemes #nursememe #nursememes #nurselife #icunurse #icunurses #hospitalmemes #murse #nurse #murselife #ernurse #ednurse #medsurgnurse #medsurg #travelnurse #cardiacnurse #telenurse #nursesrock

I used to get made fun of for being “too happy” and “too positive” because I would get excited about the small things in life. It made me feel like I should quiet who I really was…. Who God made me to be. People said “wow, you’re moving again? 🙄” and “why are you moving to Florida.. you don’t have family there.. 😳” People laughed when started my own business thinking it was just a cute little thing I was doing on the side.⁣ ⁣ One thing I’ve learned in my journey with being an entreprenur is that the weird & dorky things about you is what makes you a one of a kind. The people who think I’m crazy for starting a business, moving to Florida without family, or move too much, too smiley or positive, too ambitious, toooo whatever it is…. Means I’m doing it right. It means I’m being who God made me to be. It means I’m listening to God & the desires He’s placed on my heart. Today I finished my last day as a Nursing Assistant🤗 While my time as an aide was short-lived, I feel like I learned a tremendous amount about patient care & being a compassionate human. It truly takes a special kind of person to spend 12 hours bathing, changing, feeding, and serving others. . The next time I walk through the hospital doors will be as an RN & I cannot wait🤩 It’s truly a wild time to be working in the hospital, but I wouldn’t change this experience for anything else. Working at the hospital in the middle of a pandemic is daunting, but I know the skills I learned as an aide will only make me a better nurse❤️ . On to the next adventure😍 . . . #nursing #nurse #newgradnurse #nursingassistant #wearfigs #figsscrubs #rn #rnbsn #nursehops #cardiacnurse #registerednurse

LAST YEAR, I needed a sudden, life-saving heart transplant. Luckily, I received that heart just in time. I was discharged 9 days after my transplant surgery. Since then, I have been able to... . ♻️ Celebrate my 31st & 32nd birthdays ♻️ Go back to being a doctor— continue residency training, fellowship training 👩🏽‍⚕️ ♻️ Spend time w/ my loved ones ♻️ Be able to travel back home to LA to see my family ♻️ Become an advocate for organ donation 💙 ♻️ Help with fundraisers, charities ♻️ Attend my best friend’s wedding (oh hayyyy @busygirlbeauty 😉 ) ♻️ Start a blog, write a ton & actually keep up with it all (didn’t realize it would get so popular, TY so much everyone! ☺️ ) ♻️ !? A MILLION OTHER THINGS . ... and it’s only been a little over ONE year. 🙃 I am so thankful for my organ donor, for the beauty of organ donation. During these crazy & awful times, let’s honor some of the superheroes in this fight, INCLUDING organ donors and their families. 💙💚 . Anyways, it’s April, which means it’s Donate Life Month.
