Carbohydrates, the misunderstood macronutrient. 🍞💦 I’ve picked what I often see as being the 3 most feared foods AKA foods associated with contributing to ‘weight gain’....bread, banana and the classic white spud! Many associate ‘cutting carbs’ as an effective weight loss strategy. The issue is often what people cut out when they ‘cut carbs’ are highly refined (ultra processed ) options that aren’t JUST carbs. They are often a combination of the three macronutrients, namely fat - which is the most energy dense option from the three! Whilst it is important to have an understanding around macronutrients and what foods are classified predominantly as a carbohydrate, protein and or fat! It is important to appreciate we don’t eat nutrients in isolate...we eat food! Let’s start focusing on our diet as a WHOLE rather than isolating nutrients! WHY I STARTED STM❓⬇️ ⁣ -⁣⁣ 🔘I stared STM fitness because when I started going to the gym I searched for literally ages and couldn’t find any instagram pages like STM. I was looking for a page where someone would document their fitness journey but also give tips on what they’ve learned during their journey. I was looking for someone who has made a noticeable change to their body. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ -⁣⁣ 🔘Don’t get me wrong there are some crazy transformations out there but seeing someone who’s gone from being skinny and then looking like the Hulk really doesn’t resonate with me but seeing someone who has made small changes to their body as I said does.⁣⁣ -⁣⁣ 🔘I started this page purely because I do believe there are people out there who went through what I went through. People constantly calling you skinny asking questions like “are you anorexic” “do you eat”, the list is endless. I personally always felt insecure about my body during this period and refrained from wearing T-shirts because I didn’t want anyone to comment on my arms. - 🔘This is quite deep and I don’t think it’s spoken about much, definitely with males but comments on your appearance do have an affect on you especially when they’re constant -⁣⁣ 🔘Of course I don’t believe you should change for other people but as I mentioned earlier the comments get to you. I do believe though in using those comments to help motivate you and create a better you. Make the change for yourself and not other people .(slightly contradicting myself I know . Hopefully you get what I mean 😂🤷🏽‍♂️ )⁣ ⁣ ⁣ -⁣⁣ 🔘In all honesty I’m not too concerned about how many followers I have(even though I appreciate all of those who follow me 😂 ) Or how many likes I get on a post.I just care about helping people who were in the same position I was in. If I can help just one person make a change in their physique then I’m happy. I hope to inspire and motivate a lot of people to be someone they thought they couldn’t be and If I’ve already done that then I’ve done my job -⁣⁣ STM to the world 🌍
