I recommend that you stick to compound movements as the main focus along with training in both rep ranges of hypertrophy and strength. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 2 ) MACROS/CALORIC INTAKE There's subtle tweaks to the macros and that is highly individualized. Mainly we are either reducing carbs and fats to cut or increasing carbs and fats to bulk. Again it's going to differ per individual, you'll have to figure out how much fuel is necessary for your workouts along with hitting your composition goals. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 3 ) PROTEIN This macro stays constant for the most part, there is a range though if you want to be more flexible. The leaner you are the higher your protein intake can be as your body is more adaptable to utilizing protein. Carbohydrates, the misunderstood macronutrient. 🍞💦 I’ve picked what I often see as being the 3 most feared foods AKA foods associated with contributing to ‘weight gain’....bread, banana and the classic white spud! Many associate ‘cutting carbs’ as an effective weight loss strategy. The issue is often what people cut out when they ‘cut carbs’ are highly refined (ultra processed ) options that aren’t JUST carbs. They are often a combination of the three macronutrients, namely fat - which is the most energy dense option from the three! Whilst it is important to have an understanding around macronutrients and what foods are classified predominantly as a carbohydrate, protein and or fat! It is important to appreciate we don’t eat nutrients in isolate...we eat food! Let’s start focusing on our diet as a WHOLE rather than isolating nutrients!
