#craftafoodstory Photography Challenge Day 2: Cool White Balance . I enjoyed this one. I naturally lean towards slightly cooler white balance in my images, so I was a little more comfortable with this one, but chose to challenge myself in other ways. . Foods that are refreshing can be emphasised by a cooler white balance. It evokes the freshness and coolness of the food. The first thing that came to mind for me was a granita. Crisp, fresh, cooling. . I made this part of the challenge a little tricky for myself by making the granita in a ‘warm’ colour - pink/orange. It’s a Ruby Grapefruit Granita with mint and gin. Super refreshing right? I also chose to shoot with backlight as I find myself avoiding it most of the time because it’s not seen as the ‘perfect’ light. I wanted to push past my own boundaries there. Granita is also challenging in and of itself to shoot - because it melts quite quickly 😳 . I deleted a lot of other perspectives that I shot on the fly, as I truly didn’t like them. But these two shots posted - I’m pretty happy with. Especially the first one. . Day 4 tomorrow: Warm White Balance. Another good challenge for me. P E A C H - T A H I N I - P O R R I D G E ✨by @mindfoodies ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ➡️ Recipe: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 1. Prepare 2-3 peaches and slice them into small pieces. In a small Sauce pan add some maple Sirup 🍁 and one tsp brown sugar + cinnamon. 2. Set the heat to medium temperature, add the peaches and continue to stir. If needed, you may add 1tsp of water too. Let it simmer for 3-5 minutes before serving.


Vegan Raspberry Macarons ⁣by @projectveganbaking 💕🤗 ⁣ (yields 18-24 macarons ):⁣⁣⁣  ⁣⁣⁣ 300g aquafaba⁣⁣⁣ 150g granulated sugar⁣⁣⁣ 150g icing sugar⁣⁣⁣ 150g almond flour⁣⁣⁣ 1/2 tsp cream of tartar⁣⁣⁣  ⁣⁣⁣ You will need an accurate scale, piping bag, 1 cm round tip, silicon mat/parchment paper and baking tray.⁣⁣⁣  ⁣⁣⁣ Pour the 300g of aquafaba and 150g granulated sugar (450g total ) into a saucepan on low heat. Simmer for 12 minutes until it has reduced to 300g total weight (use a kitchen scale to check ). Pour the aquafaba mix into a stand mixer bowl and leave to cool for 1 hour.⁣⁣⁣  ⁣⁣⁣ Meanwhile, sieve together the almond flour and icing sugar a few times.⁣  ⁣⁣⁣ Add the cream of tartar to the aquafaba and start mixing on medium speed for 10 minutes.⁣⁣⁣  ⁣⁣⁣ Once it reaches stiff peaks, pour the dry mix into the meringue.⁣⁣⁣  ⁣⁣⁣ Gently fold the mix together until you get a lava consistency. You should be able to pour an “8” shape with the batter off the spatula.⁣  ⁣⁣⁣ Put the batter into a piping bag with a round 1cm piping tip and pipe circle blobs onto a silicon mat. Bang the tray on a table a few times to pop all the bubbles.⁣⁣⁣  ⁣⁣⁣ Pre-heat the oven to 120C/248F⁣⁣.⁣  ⁣⁣⁣ Leave the macarons to dry for at least 1 hour.⁣⁣⁣  ⁣⁣⁣ Place the macarons into the oven for 40 minutes or until the feet look dry. Turn the oven off and leave the macarons to dry out with the oven door ajar.⁣⁣⁣  ⁣⁣⁣ Fill with preferred filling and store in an airtight container.


Raspberry and White Chocolate Cookie Bake! 🍪⁣ by @plantsmywifeandi ⁣🤤⁣ ⁣. INGREDIENTS⁣ - 105g dairy free butter - 85g caster sugar⁣ - 85g light brown sugar⁣ - 2tbsp ground flaxseed mixed with 6tbsp water to make a flax egg (once combined, leave for 10 minutes to thicken )⁣ - 1tsp cinnamon⁣ - 1tsp vanilla essence⁣ - 1tsp baking powder⁣ - ¼tsp bicarbonate of soda⁣ - 240g plain flour⁣ - 70g fresh raspberries, halved⁣ - 100g vegan white chocolate, chopped - 1tbsp + 3tsp maple syrup⁣ - 40g pecan halves⁣ ⁣ METHOD⁣ 🥄 Pre-heat the oven to 180c fan. Grease and line a rectangular baking dish approx. 24cm long X 17cm wide X 6cm deep.⁣ 🥄 In a bowl, add the pecans and 3 tsp of maple syrup and stir to coat the pecans.⁣ 🥄 Cream together the butter and both sugars.⁣ 🥄 Add the vanilla essence, flax egg and 1tbsp of maple syrup and stir to combine.⁣ 🥄 Add the cinnamon, baking powder, bicarbonate of soda and flour and stir to combine.⁣ 🥄 Add ¾ of the dough to the baking dish. Push to the edges of the dish and make level.⁣ 🥄 Cook the first layer of dough for 7 minutes, this will spread the dough to the very edges of the dish.⁣ 🥄 Remove the dish from the oven and scatter over the raspberries (except 3 halves ) and most of the chocolate.⁣ 🥄 Add the remaining cookie dough in random blobs, you want some chocolate and raspberries to still be showing. Scatter over the rest of the chocolate and raspberry halves on top.⁣ 🥄 Place the maple covered pecans on top.⁣ 🥄 Bake for 27 minutes until the cookie is golden brown.⁣

CHOCOLATE VEGAN TART! By @gloriaveganstories 😍👌 . Base: 120gr oats. 100gr almond flour. 50gr coconut flour. 3 tablespoons agave juice. 50gr coconut oil. Pinch of salt. METHOD:Combine everything well with your hands, spread in a pan and cook at 180 degrees for 10 minutes! Cream 250gr coconut cream 150gr dark chocolate 2 tablespoons agave juice 1 tbsp coconut oil Pinch of salt Put everything in a saucepan and stir until the chocolate has melted everything. Leave to cool, pour into the base and leave to rest in the fridge. EXTRA: add some chocolate chips to the cream! ♥ ️
