PuseyCircus rules 1. When you receive a present, you do not have to share with anyone for three days. This rule was born out of an incident where a new toy was broken on the first day by a non-owner. Rather rude to have your toy broken by someone else who has no vested interest in taking care of it. I just made up the 3 days out of thin air. 2. If you break or steal a possession of a sibling then you are on the hook for replacing it as well as an extra one. This can be either a replacement of said items or in cash equivalent depending on the wronged individual’s choice. This I based on the RICO Act. Biblically it would be four-fold or seven-fold instead of just double but I knew that would bankrupt my miscreants. Gotta be creative to keep the peace. I also tried to make the punishment fit the crime. #PuseyCircus #homeschoolmom #momofmany #largefamily #loveoflearning #mompreneur #independentlearners #leadlearner #momsofinstagram #homeschooling #homeschoolingmom #momofactors #leadersarelearners #momof8 #momboss #homeschoolingrocks #momlife #homeschoolinglife #homeschoolingideas #homeschoolingfamily #creativeparenting

I have 3 free samples to send of the amazing pink drink! Since I have 3, here are 3 ways it has helped me. 🥳🥰 1. Balanced blood sugar, no more hangry moments. Such a blessing! 2. Decreased Inflammation, my ankles don't act up like they use to. Another blessing! 3. I stay full longer! It's so nice to not feel like I need snacks in-between meals now. ❤️❤️ There will be a drawing as to who gets them! I could totally caption this “Homeschooling outside on this gorgeous sunshine-y day!” and let your mind take over with beautiful ideas of butterflies and lemonade, but that wouldn’t be the entire truth. The entire truth is I felt myself get super annoyed with the attitude I got when I told her it was time to get her school book out. After that, I thought “Hey, let’s go in the backyard for fresh air and vitamin D and surely that will help both of our moods.” Incorrect. 🤪 It just turned into us getting ugly outside and me ultimately deciding we were only doing half our work today. #bless Brand new homeschool parents, (welcome ) this is your reminder that our relationship with our children is FAR more important than how fast they learn Algebra, the letter Q, or what happened in 1826. WE set the tone and WE have the ability and freedom to change things up when needed... even if it’s just for one day. Plan B, C, D, and even Z are all acceptable too. ❤️ ⁣ .⁣ .⁣ .⁣ .⁣ .⁣ #texaspride #texasforever #texaslife #texasheat #texashistory #texasproud #texasyall #texaslove #homeschoolmom #homeschoolpreschool #goldfriendsaugust4 #homeschoolingrocks #homeschoolfamily #homeschooled #thisishomeschool #homeschoolmama #homeschoolingfamily #homeschoolmoms #homeschoolkids #homeschoolers #hereisourhomeschool

It's that time of year!! We have three kids in high school and a 5th grader! Thankfully, my oldest is doing her own lesson planning this year as well as keeping track of her college classes and working part-time! For high school, I actually plan out the full year IN PENCIL during the summer, then work from that to fill out each week's plan. Blessed are the flexible.💪 #homeschoolingrocks #amblesideonline #organizedmom #ilovemyjob #musicteacher #tuesdaytips

We have 7 more days of our school year left but are working in some pool parties and play dates in between, so it’ll be another couple of weeks before we finish up. We don’t start our new year until after Labor Day, so we’ll still get a good break in there as well. This year, I’m making it a point to spend some school time wrapping up our studies with portfolios and end-of-year clean-ups. Getting the kids involved in the process will make it much more meaningful for them and will help me keep only the things that are most important to them. We don’t have a dedicated homeschool room, so we use multiple spaces and solutions to keep everything organized and tidy. Making sure we purge each year and only keep what is most important is key to keeping our spaces orderly. What’s also helped along the way is having an organizational system that is easy to maintain throughout the year. We filter through things each month, and only keep what we need for the years to come. We also keep things streamlined so that we can easily find our materials and supplies and don’t get bogged down with excess. Visit the blog for my favorite tips, details, and pics. This is your family's chance to really do school the way you all want to. There is no rule on how you have to dress, there's no set time to do school, and there's no order in which you have to do your lessons. Countdown to (home )school! • Harmony has really started to love board games this summer. Settlers of Catan is her favorite, and she even likes the expansions. She has beaten people in Monopoly, Life, and even Risk! Strategy games seem to be her favorite, with cooperative games coming second. The hardest thing to work on has been helping her have a good attitude when she loses, but she has been getting better at staying positive and being kind when someone else wins. I’m excited to play more games with her!

We are officially counting down to our start-date for school on August 17th! This is our dining room, where we do the majority of our academic homeschooling that involves writing. We also use our couch, opposite from this table ( #yellowcouchweloveyou ), and sometimes use our den, which has the computer (used for math ) and the television. We also go outside a lot, and go to grandma’s house to learn with her, and go to co-op, and parks, and the library, and we *used* to go to a lot of museums and coffee shops... well, we’ll just say that there is a lot of learning that happens everywhere!

Familiarization with the Large Moveable Alphabets. This is an activity that prepares a child for the identification of letter sounds. Subsequently, the child proceeds to blending letter sounds to make words. It is the foundation of reading. It is best presented to a child who has gained mastery of the individual letter sounds in isolation. The vowel (yellow ) and consonant (blue ) sounds are itemized in different colours, this indirectly becomes evident to a child and spurs a curiosity. "The question is not, -how much does the youth know? When he has finished his education-but how much does he care? And about how many orders of things does he care? In fact, how large is the room in which he finds his feet set? And therefore, how full is the life he has before him?"~Charlotte Mason . Many of us are getting ready for another homeschooling year. Some parents are newly beginning this chapter of their life. And some parents may be homeschooling children with special needs. I don't have all of the answers or the 20 plus years of homeschooling experience, but through the years of homeschooling a special needs child, by God's grace, the following has helped tremendously: 🍃Children with special needs do not learn at the exact same pace as other children. 🍃If you are working with a nonverbal child, understanding that they know way more than they can express is helpful. 🍃If your child is nonverbal, having a nonverbal test done to help you know what they know receptively, but can't fully express helps. 🍃Their progress is beyond your control. Be a seed planter. Those seeds could be therapy with a specialist, occupational therapists, tutor, etc., and EVERYTHING you are diligently doing for them to teach them. 🍃Their progress, depending on the diagnosis, will not look like another child's. 🍃Document their progress 🍃Don't lose hope if they are not progressing the way you envisioned. 🍃A child with special needs requires more patience and more time. 🍃They have hard days, just like us. 🍃Teaching in chunks: small short lessons with breaks in between. If your child is having a challenging day, put the books down, go outside. Revisit the concept another time. 🍃Humility is key. Humble yourself before the Lord Almighty 🍃Ask and pray for wisdom 🍃Be transparent with God 🍃Find nourishment in God's word before teaching. 🍃Pray, pray, pray, pray 🍃Take care of yourself, find time to seek God, take a nice long bath, find rest for your souls 🍃When you feel overwhelmed, go to your room, shut your door, and cry...it is okay and it is going to be okay. 🍃A community of moms with children with special needs helps a lot. 🍃Reach out to professionals 👇 comments

My husband took our daughter with him to work today for some work experience (we have our own cleaning business ) So here she is power washing today. Good on you girl! She did really well!

“My calling as a mother is the same as any other Christian’s: to fulfill God’s will for our lives and to glorify Him. This means I am to follow the Lord’s design for my marriage—cleaving to my husband, supporting him, honoring him, loving him as my own flesh. I am to be a careful steward of the world in which I live. I am to seek opportunities to bring God’s message of redemption to others, to make full use of the gifts and talents he has played in my life to bring Him glory and further His kingdom. . . I am to shepherd the hearts of the children whom He has providentially placed in my care. I am to care for them tenderly and to partner with God and my husband in leading my children to know and love His Word and to follow His will. . . As we tenderly care for our children, meeting their needs, teaching them and guiding them, praying for them and modeling our faith, we are also anchoring their hearts to our home, our values, and our beliefs.” -Sally Clarkson, “The Mission of Motherhood” THIS is why I began Nurturing Connections Homeschool. I wanted to share this vision of motherhood and homeschooling that The Lord so heavily placed on my heart. Homeschooling is so much more than curricula and school subjects. It is more than shiny school supplies and tests. It is an extension of our motherhood. It is rooted in our relationships. It is an opportunity to disciple our children and point them to what matters most. On my new site, I offer a FREE online course that helps you establish a strong foundation for your home and homeschool. Have you started the new school year yet? ✨ If you haven't, don't worry. You're not alone! We're still enjoying the lazy days of August. We sort-of homeschool through the summer anyway, so it gives us a little more freedom to go full steam ahead a bit later. ✨ I love that homeschooling can fit learning around your family's needs, instead of having to fit your needs around a school schedule. Having that flexibility (and self-reliance! ) is so critical with how unpredictable the schools are right now. ✨ Oh, and the boys' new desks are on backorder. So, I guess this is a good lesson in patience and waiting. So much waiting. ✨ What are you waiting on before starting up your homeschool year? ✨ "Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love." — Ephesians 4:2

We-even we as homeschoolers-sometimes fall into the idea that learning is what happens in a classroom. It always involves textbooks and worksheets. And there's a designated teacher. ⠀ ⠀ But this isn't true. A curious child can take a walk with a parent and learn all kinds of information about biology and plant life. An interested child can stand at mom's side and help with supper and learn, not only cooking skills, but also math and science concepts. ⠀ ⠀ If we're constantly talking to our kids and providing other people who are knowledgeable about other things for them to talk to, they'll learn. ⠀ ⠀ It's simple. We make it hard. ⠀ ⠀ Do you agree?⠀ ⠀ #Homeschool #homeschooling #homeschoolmom #homeschoollife #homeschoolers #homeschooled #homeschoolrocks #homeschoolingmom #homeschoolfamily #HomeschoolKids #homeschoolingrocks #homeschoolmoms #homeschoolfun #homeschoolmama #homeschoolife #homeschoolperks #homeschoolteacher #homeschoolinglife #homeschoolkid #homeschooldays #HomeSchoolingmoms #aswewalk #homeschoollifestyle #homeschoolinstagrammers #homeschoolroom #homeeducator #homeeducation #homeschoolcollective #homeschoolquotes

LEARNING TO READ Ad/ With the twins starting big school in September and Matilda nursery, I thought it was the perfect time to introduce the girls to reading, as it is one of the most important skills the girls will learn. Now when I say I am teaching the girls to read, it is not as formal as sitting them down with a book straight away (even though books definitely have their time and place ). When it comes to pre-school learning, it should be all about fun, play based activities, and the team that have created @readingeggs have done this brilliantly. Reading eggs is an online app that introduces children to reading through fun educational and engaging games, puzzles, songs and activities. Each of the girls have their own individual program to follow allowing them to progress at their own pace. They cover phonics, handwriting and over time, start to build on the skills they need to learn to read. The twins love to support Matilda whilst she is still learning to control the mouse. All three girls get so excited when it’s Reading Eggs time, and that is what learning is all about - being excited to learn! So, why not give @readingeggs a go yourselves - it caters for children from 2-13 and you can get a month’s free trial by clicking on the link in the bio.

Many people ask about homeschooling high school. I believe one of the most important things (especially if you have a social child with one or more social parents! ) is 𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐌𝐔𝐍𝐈𝐓𝐘.⁣ ⁣ Yesterday our kiddos finally got the chance to celebrate the end of the year. This is my son's Classical Conversations Challenge I group.⁣ ⁣ When I look at this picture, let me tell you what I see:⁣ ⁣ * A group of young people (most of them have known each other for many years ) whose families share the same educational goals⁣ ⁣ * A gaggle of different personalities, strengths, interests, and desires⁣ ⁣ * A support system - these kids accept each other for who they are. There would never be teasing, judgment, or any type of bullying/putting others down.⁣ ⁣ * Deep friendship - often times I will hear from my son that one of his classmates has texted the group for prayer. They are intimately aware of each other's struggles and successes.⁣ ⁣ * Young people that are living in a very uncertain world - and through their community, they have the gift of consistency, friendship, and support.⁣ ⁣ Sometimes I can't believe we have the privilege to educate our son in this way and in this community. We helped start this community four years ago because we wanted a way for this group of friends to progress together through middle and high school. ⁣ ⁣ The parents are committed to keeping this group together and making tweaks to the educational material that allows us to put 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐮𝐦. ⁣ ⁣ So, when you look at this photo you might see a group of wholesome teens. I see that AND a group of fun, bright, compassionate, and curious kids who give me hope for our future! ⁣ ⁣ #homeschooling #homeschoollife #homeschoolingmom #homeschooldays #homeschoolingrocks #homeschoolingbyheart #homeschoolingfamily #homeschoolinglife #homeschoolhighschool #homegrownlearners #homeschoolinfluencers #homeschoollookslikethis #homeschoollifestyle #homeschoolperks #raisingteens #homeschoolingteens #teenagers #homeeducationlookslikethis #classicalconversationschallenge1 #classicalconversations #homeschoolcollective #homeschoolbloggers

Homeschooling a high schooler, middle schooler, elementary, kindergarten, and a preschooler definitely keeps a person on their toes! It's not impossible though! On my blog I've written a few articles with tips I've learned along the way to manage all of this. I'll tell you a secret though, these tips aren't just for you. They're reminders for me too! Do you ever forget things you learned, struggle a little while, and then go, "Wait a minute, I've been through this before!"? Recently we were having a little bit of a struggle in our days and so I had to follow one of my own tips and tweak our schedules a bit. Bingo! I think we're on a roll now! You can check out my homeschool related posts by following the link in my bio. I've got everything from free templates for schedules that you can adjust to meet your family's unique needs, beautiful schedule backgrounds, homeschool subject cards that you can download and print, to tips for homeschooling a large brood when you have a baby too.

How to travel with your toddler - - I get this question the most out of all the ones I get. 👉🏻 How do we travel with Jack? Sometimes we'll also get a random person at a campground that calls us brave. - The truth is, it is not always easy. Sometimes you have to make an emergency pit stop because the diaper is leaking. Jack had a great time getting a diaper change on the side of the road. - Three things that will help you travel with your toddler: 😝Patience and patience. 😜Flexibility 🤪Lower your standard for how the trip will go. - I love to look back and think about all the crazy things that have happened on our trips. I love all the things we've done, not so fun and fun. - Know that there will be bumps in the road but choose to laugh at them. - ⁉️Have you had a crazy trip? ⁉️What was a wild thing that happened during a trip? - - - - 💕 @TheMarvelousMiners 💕 💕 @TheMarvelousMiners 💕

Dalmatia’s very own Tree of Life. 🌳 . In fact, the promenade at Baška Voda is lined with these beautiful trees clinging on to the soil. . Being from Celtic heritage (🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 🇮🇪 ), we’ve long been familiar with the symbolism (Lea actually wears it around her neck every day ), but we think @theirishstore describes it perfectly on their site. . “The symbolism of the Celtic Tree of Life is actually about the forces of nature combining to reach balance and harmony...A representation of the link between heaven and earth, mind and body, and the never ending circle of life. The Celts believed that the Tree of Life was a symbol of longevity, wisdom and strength” . The symbol of the Tree of Life came to the Balkans via Byzantium, where it means eternal life, resurrection, the eternal soul. . I believe that’s our history lesson for the day. Home-schooling parents, you, are, welcome. 🤓☺️
