Pull Day!!! 💪🏼 Heading into week 4 of this months progressive overload plan! What is Progressive Overload? It is the principle of increasing the intensity or load (weight ) you endure during your workout in order to stimulate muscle growth and strength. For example: For the past three weeks I have been doing the same 5 day split with the same exercises every week. Every week I up my weight based on the previous weeks weight that I completed! After 4 weeks I will keep my split and change my exercises and do it all again! Are you actually pushing yourself?🧐 • -Do you find yourself cutting reps from your sets because you’re too ‘tired’? -Do you find yourself skipping the exercises you don’t like doing because they are ‘too hard’? -Do you tell yourself you want to hit a PR but never make it happen? • When it comes to making progress, progressive overload will be your best friend. A lot of us don’t take the time to follow a structured program or track our weight/reps/sets to ensure we are actually progressing week by week or month by month. How can you tell if you’re truly pushing yourself if you don’t know what to compare your current state to? Along with that, many of us may go to the gym routinely, but simply go through the motions pushing the same weight as always or failing to finish sets fully because we’re tired. Making progress isn’t just a physical battle… it’s a mental one too. We have to push past the barriers of what we think or have seen ourselves capable of in the past to make room for improvements. Pushing ourselves to be better comes from within. If you truly want to be a better version of yourself, do you think taking shortcuts or failing to follow a plan is going to get you there?
