The comeback is always stronger than the setback. 1-2-1 sessions alongside physio have been getting this lovely lady back, fighting fit and ready to tackle great workouts since a nasty knee injury. Hip mobility is so important for: 🌿 Preventing lower back pain 🌿 Optimal functioning of the knee 🌿 Improving the kinetic chain 🌿Decreasing stiffness 🌿 Improving yoga poses🧘‍♂️ 🌿Improving sport performance. Here we have two people @kp_move and @rsburger who are both fit. However we are both at completely different mobility levels. As a intermediate yogi, I still have work to do regarding mobility. I have an anterior pelvic tilt with tight hip flexors from running. For me my goal is release the hip flexors and improve function. @rsburger is an ex dancer and fitness instructor with full mobility and range of motion. We are showing you how to improve and maintain your mobility whether you are an advanced or a beginner. Remember everyone has to start somewhere, and everyone is different working towards different goals. Phase SiX Hip #Mobility Drills — These #movements are definitely not just a ‘stretch’! — Combine these three drills to create a #workout that not only helps your joints get juicy, but gets them #strong too! — Play around with warming yourself up with this circuit, or incorporating them separately into your workout as #activerecovery movements in between sets! — A1. ▪️Alt. Move it or lose it! For most of us we training to lose weight or to change our physic 💪🏼 As we get older, we get busier Often we does realise it but years of improper sedentary living and weight training to cause their body to dysfunctionally stiffen up. When we work desk patrol for 40 hours each week, and our only training is bench press, squats, deadlifts, and pull-ups, our shoulders will kyphotically slump forward, our hip flexors will chronically flex (shorten ), and our hamstrings will become tight. Our bodies are designed to adapt to the most efficient (most used ), good or bad pattern. The harsh reality is that when you have unwittingly turned your body into a T-REX 🦖 So to make the most out of your training it ’s about training smart and incorpatarting the recovery side into your daily partic. Your body will thank you for it! You’ll feel amazing and be apart to move a lot more efficiently, faster and be able to lift heavier. There is a few different types of ways to create mobility in the body these are 2 of my favs ✅ Static stretching ✅ Weighted mobility training Static stretching also known as Yin. Yin yoga stretches and targets both the deep connective tissues between the muscles, and the fascia throughout the body. The aim is to increase circulation in the joints and improve flexibility as the poses stretch and exercise the bone and joint areas. Holds can range between 1-5mins. Refer to the podcast I did with Truth Robinson for more information on how yin can help your training. Weighted mobility challenges your body to build both flexibility and strength in the positions you need it most through helping your fascia adapt. Fascia, the sheet of connective tissue between your muscles and your skin, can become rigid, stiff, and “glued” into place if you do not regularly move your body through full ranges of motion. Fortunately, weighted mobility work can help undo this damage by forcing the glued fascia to adapt in a positive manner. Twists are often taught as balms for sluggish digestion, low energy, stifled breathing, and a variety of muscle aches and pains. Best of all, they feel good from the inside out. Reclining Twist offers an opportunity to feel the power of wringing out the body from its core. It can improve breathing, ease back and neck tension, and soothe frazzled nerves. Its reclined position lets us linger in the posture's curves and spirals, inviting the twist to penetrate deep into the spine. This pose will leave you feeling refreshed, rejuvenated, and rinsed clean. How to do the supine pose: While lying on your back, bend one knee and cross it outside of the opposite foot. Use your hand to put slight pressure on the bent knee to push down towards the floor. Keep both shoulders squared and rooted to the floor. Extend the opposite hand and gaze towards the hand.
