I want to be just like them when I grow up! And by that I’m referring to my kids. They say that mom and dad inspire them but in reality, they’re the ones that inspire us! They’re growing up to be some pretty amazing kids and we love them soooo much. ❤️🙏🏻 #lyfeee . . @eddierodriguez03 @carissarodriguezzz @misterresilient #Fitmoms #momswhoworkout #momsworkouts #momstransformations #momsfitness #momswholift #momsquad #momstrong #momstruggles #momssupportingmoms #momsofinsta #momshelpingmoms #momswhohike #hikingmoms #oceansidepersonaltrainer #onlinecoach

Do you know how good you feel and how proud of yourself you feel when you see positive changes happening in your body and you know it if from the hard work you did 👏🏻 There is nothing like it!!! That amazing feeling becomes addicting and it keeps you going on your journey. Nobody can take that away from you! You earn your body! 💜 You deserve to be proud of yourself. Plus it can teach your children that hard work pays off and that you push through the hard work instead of giving up.

This is a hot button. I can't even count the amount of female friends my 12 year old has that don't know how to cook, either. So really, this goes both ways. No "roles" should be left out when raising kids in my opinion, and the sooner the better. Sure, they will make a mess and do it poorly, but practice makes perfect and isn't our job to raise competent humans? I wish that I was taught how to work on a car, do home repairs, "fix" things. And I wish my husband was taught how to put his laundry away, scrub the bath tub on the reg, and that rinsing a cup and putting it on the drying mat doesn't count as washing dishes. If you're going to raise kids, teach them how to run a household in full. #raisingkids #parenting #momlife #motherhood #parentingtips #parenthood #positiveparenting #parents #family #kids #motherhoodunplugged #mumlife #raisinggirls #love #gentleparenting #raisingboys #momsofinstagram #dadlife #parentinglife #consciousparenting #momstruggles #children #raisingteens #homeschool #parentingteens #mindfulparenting #lifewithkids #letthembelittle #parentcoach #bhfyp

Successfully convinced myself to do my first official post partum work out. I've been dreading it in all honesty since I was sick throughout most of my pregnancy and this is the longest I've gone without working out. I know this is gonna take a lot of work. But I'm going to give myself grace and time and be proud of what I do. The workout went great. I was surprised by how exhausted I was after the light work out but proud of myself for climbing back on the bucking bronco. I will probably be walking like a drunk person for the next several days afterwards. #tiredmom #momsofinstagram #momlife #mom #momstruggles #momtruth #motherhood #momlifeunfiltered

As a busy mom I spend most of my time chasing down my son with vegetables, that I don't normally think about the other side, me 😳 #teamipartner ⠀ ⠀ Before I started drinking my greens, I was barely hitting the minimum and it was really starting to take it's toll on my body...I felt sluggish & worn out but once I upped my intake (supplemental & physical ) I noticed a huge change. I drink these greens from @teamiblends and I couldn't keep them to myself anymore 🤗 A quick scoop in the morning is all I need to get that added boost for my digestion. Plus, it's made with all natural ingredients and tastes delicious. 🤤 You guys need to try it out for yourselves and use OURLIFE for 20% off at checkout! #thankyouteami

I didn’t get any Halloween decorations out 👻 I never signed up for the boo drive thru and we missed it 🤦🏼‍♀️ We still need to carve our pumpkins 🎃 BUTTTTTTTT I did bake homemade cut out cookies SO I’m still a good mom right?!? . Mom struggles and mom guilt are REAL especially now 🤷🏼‍♀️ Could I try harder yes, but most days doing my best if as good as it gets. I’ve learned to let go of the little things, and if they are fed and have a roof over their heads, I call it a win at the end of the day 🤪 . . . #mommy #stopdropandmom #mumsofinstagram #momcommunity #motherhood -rising #momlife #sahm #sahmlife #sahmomlife #sahmproblems #sahmstyle #momoflittles #boymom #girlmom #clevelandmom #mompreneur #momstruggles #momtruth #momlifeunfiltered #bestmomtribe #momprobs #mombosses #momproblems #momboss #love #instagood #photooftheday #picoftheday #instadaily

I have been facing SO MANY unknowns. How many of you can relate? Our path forward is so uncertain right now. I feel so overwhelmed daily by it all. We don’t know where we will be living, whether we should by a house or keep renting. Whether we will be able to afford my graduate loan payments if Mike doesn’t find a job when he transitions out of the Army. Who is going to be the next president. Will loved ones be affected by COVID19. Will I pass my national licensure boards. Will I have enough energy to wake up tomorrow and juggle all the work, school, baby, wife, sister, child, and friend duties that are on my plate? Each day I feel like I may very well fail. And guess what, I do fail. There are a few things that keep me grounded and bring me back when I feel like a failure. 1. GOD. Taking time to pause. Be still. And seek God in these moments reminds me that I have a Heavenly Father that accepts me with wide open arms because He knows I will fail and loves me in spite of my flaws. 2. SELF CARE. Taking time to focus on myself is also important. Wives and mothers so often ignore this fact. What are you doing just for you. Do you put all the thoughts away and enjoy your self-care, or do you think of your todos the entire time. Make sure you get in the right mindset and truly let it all go. 3. OILS. I don’t think essential oils cure cancer. I don’t think that they will fix all my problems. I don’t think they are a substitute for western medicine or therapy. However, what I do KNOW is the fact that they are a scientifically proven tool that helps me manage all the feelings when they come in tidal waves, washing over me at home. These oils have been giving me so much peace. 🌿 I put oils in my diffuser in the morning that wake me up. Cue tangerine, and orange. 🌿 I put baby oils in the diffuser at nap time and bed time to give Drew a routine. Cue gentle baby and seedlings calm. 🌿 I put sleepy oils in the diffuser to help me wind down. Cue lavender and cedar wood. 🌿 I put cozy oils in the diffuser to make my home warm and inviting. Cue thieves, stress away, & nutmeg. These three things go together so beautifully. Visit @mindfulmamamatters for more.

Alone. With a baby. In a very foreign country. Dealing with a mixed bag of emotions? Trying to integrate, speak and understand the language, maintain a house, be a great partner, a mother, a cook, cleaner, nurse, taxi driver, teacher all whilst wearing the biggest smile because "one shouldn't have anything to complain about?" I understand because I was once that mama. Mamas you're not alone. You've got this. And when it all gets a little bit too much, when motherhood is throwing two fingers up at you, always remember there is support. Good night mamas ♡

✨ To bind or not to bind? ✨ 🤷‍♀️ Binding can be a controversial topic. Here are a few factors I consider when discussing binding: ⏲️ How far postpartum are you? There's a big difference between 6 days and 6 weeks. I think binding can be quite helpful early on, but you want your abdominals to start doing the work of holding you up sooner rather than later. 💪 What do you hope to achieve? Do you want support for your overstretched abdominals or are you hoping to "waist train"? I encourage binders to help give a little extra support when your abdominals, which were formerly stretched and able to "pull" against your baby, are now "empty." "Waist training" like using corsets can be dangerous for your internal organs. 🤸‍♀️ What activities are you using the binder with? Everything? Lifting? I love using the help of a binder at first, especially when you are up and around, but slowly decrease reliance on it when you are more static. 🧶 How tight are you making your binder? Check in with your body when you are binding. You want it snug enough to give you support but not so tight it gives you unwanted downward pressure and pelvic heaviness. 🧩These are all puzzle pieces that fit into the whole picture of your recovery. 👉 Did you bind postpartum? If so, how long and what kind of binder did you use?

“But seriously Ashley, I really don’t have time…” . Girlfriend. I have something to tell you right now. You do have time. How many hours you have in the day is not your problem. You’ve got the same 24hrs everyday that everyone else has. . If you aren’t showing up for your health, that’s because it’s not a priority for you. Now before you get all defensive and tell me that your life is different from a lot of others...I get it. It’s not easy. It takes time and it takes planning. There are seasons when life is just busier and more difficult. My life has different flows, too. Sometimes I can make it to the gym for an hour workout. Other times I’m lucky if I get to walk with one of my kids around the block. Sometimes I’m home to cook dinner. Other times we are driving through Rosa’s for some quick mexican food. . Some of us forget that we get to CHOOSE when, where, and how we invest our time. If your health is important to you then MAKE TIME. Move stuff around and show up for yourself. It’s time to take your power back. Do you need someone to help you with meal planning? Do you need to have someone around for accountability? Do you need to shut your laptop by 7pm? Would you feel better if you read your daily devotional every morning? Then doooooo it. INVEST in yourself. . This is the time of year when I hear more and more excuses. I’m too busy. It’s too cold. I have too many obligations and errands to run. I just want to stay in my robe (that might be mine ). Blah 😑 Blah 😑 Blah. Don’t wait until the New Year to wake up and realize you’ve gained 11.5lbs again. It’s not worth it. 📌 Tip of the day w/ @dr .siggie . It’s perfectly ok for your child to be bored.   Actually, it’s more than ok. It’s great!     Reframe your thinking ➡️ boredom isn’t bad, it’s an opportunity.     An opportunity for your child to:    ✔️Cope   ✔️Explore  ✔️Discover   ✔️Imagine  ✔️Pretend  ✔️Problem-solve  ✔️Make decisions   ✔️Self-regulate     But they can’t practice these skills if you don’t give them the opportunity to : )     So, next time your child complains to you that they’re bored (probably later today 😉 ) try this:     “Yes, I can see that. ☺️ Give it some time to figure out what to do. When I took a year off from work after my second baby, I would often long for some adult interaction and normalcy. Life with two under two really rocked my world and as much as I cherished every second home with my babies, sometimes I felt like I was losing myself. Now that I am back to working full time, there is NOTHING I want more than to stay home with them. I feel guilt for not being there, fear of missing out on these precious moments and I can literally feel time slipping through my fingers. It’s such a catch 22! Right?? Moral of the story is, MOMMIN’ is freaking HARD. Whether you’re a stay at home mom or a working mom, each have their own set of challenges! Just know that I see you, I understand both sides and it’s ok to struggle! I just love this little community of Moms that I have surrounding me and I am constantly in awe of how amazing you all are. Happy Wednesday to some of the most bad a$$ mamas I know 🖤

The ups and downs, challenges and milestones with an immense amount of love. No journey is easy. So on days you're not feeling great, remember you will always be a hero in the eyes of your children. (Even if they don't want to admit it ) You keep your kids striving for the better and many times at the expense of your own needs. Your commitment, strength and courage to continue without a beat is truly beautiful. So today and everyday I thank you for your journey. I thank you for pushing through like you don't have the weight of the world on your shoulders. I thank you for the beautiful goddess you are. Let's continue to support and build each other up. 𝐘𝐨𝐮'𝐫𝐞 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐞. The struggle of overwhelm is real.😔 🥴You feel lost. 🥴You feel stuck. 🥴You’re stir crazy. 🥴You feel irritated & frustrated. 🥴You need space. 🥴You feel like your whole day revolves around your kids schedules. You give so much of yourself that you often forget about yourself. 💖 Make your own health, happiness & wellbeing a priority. The absolute best thing you can do for your family is to fill your own cup. When you don’t, it’s hard to be the mom you wish to be. 🦸🏻‍♀️ ✨You, too, have dreams, needs, desires that have nothing to do with your kids. You still need to do the things that bring out the best possible version of yourself. ✨ 🙏🏼 Practice an attitude of gratitude. Reflect on what you are grateful for. 🧺 Declutter one area in your home that needs attention. For me, it’s our kitchen. It’s where we spend the most time gathered as a family. When it’s out of control, I get stressed out. 🥰 Listen to your body. If you’re hungry, fuel yourself with nutritious food. When you’re thirsty, hydrate. Feeling sluggish, get up & move! If someone is draining your energy, quit hanging out with them. 👭🏻 Connect with other like minded people. Find a community or support system that you’ll learn from & will lift you up. 💃🏻 Reconnect with yourself. Before you had kids, you loved doing certain things in your free time. Movies with your girlfriends, reading a chapter of your favorite book, a DIY project, or maybe that Zumba class! Schedule a date for yourself. 👩‍❤️‍💋‍👨 Spend alone time with your spouse. Spend quality time together as husband & wife. Not as mom & dad. I know it’s easy to get overwhelmed, but take a ᗪᗴᗴᑭ ᗷᖇᗴᗩ丅ᕼ. Being a mom is the most rewarding & satisfying job ever. On the bad days, slow down and hug your family. This time will be gone in a blink of an eye. Appreciate these moments together. 💫 Give yourself grace. You’re doing a great job, don’t give up. 𝙔𝙤𝙪 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙖𝙡𝙤𝙣𝙚. 💁🏻‍♀️ I'm here for ya! Feel free to message me & let's connect! We can be eachothers support system, we'll be healthier & happier mommies! We'll get through the tough days & celebrate the great days! 💕👯‍♀️

Ever scroll through your IG feed and feelings of envy start to creep up? Ever wonder how a Mama has time to do her hair and makeup while juggling her kids? How is she able to squeeze in a workout and maintain her perfect hour glass figure? How does she even have time to take IG worthy photos and post them on a regular? ⁣ Jealousy. It’s something to be aware of and look out for. It’s poison that eats not at the person who’s shining but rather the person who’s experiencing this emotion. ⁣ Usually, envy stems from a place of someone having something you want and don’t have. Or perhaps someone is stronger in an area you haven’t mastered yet. ⁣ So often I hear people talk about how IG can be a trigger media because people usually share their best snapshot. Just because a Mama doesn’t share her lowest of lows it doesn’t mean she’s not struggling. Also, it doesn’t mean she’s purposefully trying to show off her best life. ⁣ Even if there is a Mama who’s truly living her best why not celebrate her winning season? How about be open to learning from what another Mama has that you don’t have so you can shine too? ⁣ Take a moment to really let all this sink in. The next time you find yourself feeling jealous, I encourage you to ultimately stop judging yourself based on someone else’s highlight reel. ⁣ I find while it’s important for me to connect with people I can relate to I also find it’s equally as important for me to connect with people I can learn from. ⁣ Ultimate message here is, when you see someone rise don’t allow your inner demon to try and tear them down. There’s really no point and that’s not going to help you grow. Instead, let’s do our best to lift each other up and genuinely be happy for our individual achievements. . . . . . . . . . . . #jealousmom #jealousyisadisease #jealousykills #momenvy #momsupportingmoms #momhelpingmoms #motherhoodthroughletterboards #vancouvermom #momjourney #embraceyourmotherhood #honestmom #helpeachothergrow #mompositivity #stopmomjudging #momlifekeepingitreal #momstruggles #realmomlife #momlifeunfiltered #momlifeishard #momlifeunplugged #canadianmom

You may have heard about the "invisible load of motherhood," but what about the feeling of being invisible? The transition to motherhood comes with a lot of self-sacrifice. Sometimes we sacrifice so much that it feels like we've been wiped away. Much of what we do and who we are goes unnoticed. I remember someone sharing with me earlier on "motherhood is a thankless job." I thought "wow, sign me up." I created this week's series to validate all those experiencing these feelings, but I also wanted to see if some reflection could change things for you. Questions to ask yourself: 1️⃣ "Am I invisible to ME?" Do you notice what you do? Do you acknowledge your hard work and feel a sense of pride? 2️⃣ Have you communicated your feelings and positive needs to those you love? 3️⃣ Do you share the load with anyone else or are you tasked with everything? How can you change this? 4️⃣ Answer this: what would it mean if someone did notice? (can you share your response with a support person in your life? ) If you want to feel better supported in your motherhood journey, check out my digital course Keeping Mommy in Mind. I have all of the tools laid out for you to feel more like yourself. You can learn more by heading to the link in my bio 💛 . . . . . .

I have breastfed and I have bottle fed.⁣ ⁣ I have always done what I feel is right for myself and my baby. ⁣ ⁣ I appreciate the thought behind encouraging breastfeeding. It has many benefits, there’s no doubt about that! But I am a firm fed-is-best mama.⁣ ⁣ Breastfeeding my first son was tough from the start. By the time he was 4 months old we started making the transition to formula. He took to the bottle FAR better than he ever did to the breast and I knew it was the right decision. ⁣ ⁣ Despite that I felt a ton of guilt. Those words “breast is best” ringing in my head on a loop, telling me I had failed. ⁣ ⁣ I’m embarrassed to say this now... but I wouldn’t buy formula in stores, only online. If I took a photo and formula could be seen in the background-I wouldn’t post it. How f*cking silly is that?! ⁣ ⁣ With Jax, we are about to hit 11 months of exclusive breastfeeding, and he shows zero interest in wanting to stop anytime soon. ⁣ ⁣ My nursing journey the second time around just happened to be better. Easy, natural, and even pleasant. I didn’t do anything differently. They are just different babies. ⁣ ⁣ Taking care of babies is HARD whether you feed them from your breast or a bottle. Don’t let anyone make you feel like less of a mom for how you nourish your child. We are all rockstars if you ask me💕⁣
