Salvation Mountain is located in located in Calipatria, CA and is an art project created by Leonard Knight, who has since passed. It is a mountain side, which was roped off so we couldn’t get too close, that is painted with verses and other sayings letting people know that God loves YOU! As many of you know, we are Christians and have been saved by the blood of Christ. We’re not perfect people, and never will be, but God sent his Son to pay for our sins. John 3:16 states that “for God so loved the world, that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes on the name of the Lord shall be saved”. He loves each and every one of us. If you want to know more about God, and/or want to know how to be saved, and/or just want to chat about it, please never hesitate to reach out to us! . . #travelnurse #travelnursing #travelingnurse #travelrns #nurse #nursing #nursingschool #nursesofig #futurenurses #registerednurse #travelnurseadventures #travelnurses #travelnurselife #gypsynurse #gypsynursing #gypsynurselife #rvliving #rvtravel #rvlife #fulltimerv #homeiswhereyouparkit #tinyhome #salvationmountain

This is because our inner depths not only contain light energy, but density and darkness as well. Our depths hold the shadows of pain from generational, family, and current trauma. Remember, “trauma” means anything that is too fast, too much, or too soon. Does this pattern sound familiar? It sure does in today’s modern day and age, but it’s also highly common for trauma to frequently occur in childhood. The more trauma we experienced in childhood, the more difficult it can be to sit with ourselves and look within. We are biologically programmed to have an affinity towards that which feels good and a resistance towards that which doesn’t feel good. For example, it keeps us safe and alive when we react to the fire by pulling away without thinking. ✨Continued in comments below.....

So how did this calendar fix my work woes?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🗓 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ When I made a conscious effort to start looking at my work requirements I found it started to force me to look at my life requirements.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 📆 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I started to think about what I wanted to do and achieve. I started to think about what was important to me. Exercise, reading, being outside.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 📆 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Find what is important to you- outside of work too. Find your life requirements. Get a calendar, schedule your time and make it happen.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 📆 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I find that by writing it out each month it reminds me to do it and it’s a nice visual reminder if I start to slide into old habits.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I use @zandzee__ check them out for life organising inspo.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 📆 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #operationrca

Technically, it is only July 3rd but most Americans have already began celebrating the holiday with normal business operations being suspended for the day. Acute care centers and long-term care facilities are not closed but I hope my fellow healthcare providers find a way to safely celebrate Independence Day nonetheless. ⠀ ⠀ As a registered nurse/family nurse practitioner, I am an advocate of advanced practice registered nurses practicing independently to the fullest extent of their education and experience. Many of my nurse practitioner colleagues have decided to do this by becoming private practice owners. If you are seeking advice on opening a clinic, there are many great nurses/nurse practitioners on Instagram that offer sound business advice. So many, that it was difficult to suggest only one person this week! ⠀ ⠀ This week’s suggested “Folks To Follow” selection is NPInTheKnow®️ ( @npintheknow ). She is truly a hidden jewel on social media. Just read the testimonials of nurse practitioners who have taken her business courses for opening a clinic and you will see how brightly her knowledge and insight shines. So, if opening a clinic is on your to-do list in the near future, be sure to follow NPInTheKnow®️ ( @npintheknow )! ⠀ ⠀ #followthem #friday #healthcareprofessional #healthcareadministration #businessconsultant #registerednurse #rn #advancedpracticenurse #aprn #nursepractitioner #nursemidwife #crna #clinicalnursespecialist #privatepractice #nurseowned #npsocial #npschool #dnpstudent #familynursepractitioner #agpcnp #pediatricnursepractitioner #npsofinstagram #advancedpracticenursesofinsta

Tonight is my last shift on orientation and i start on my own Sunday! One of the best pieces of advice I got was when I started orientation”get a notebook, take notes in it and keep it with you at all times” this book has been my guidance the last 5 months. Every time I did a intervention, passed a medication for the first time I would print out my hospital policy and put it in my notebook and take notes about it. Then when I would go to do the skill again i would pull out my notebook. I wrote down key details such as double RN verified, iv rates, what I needed to document. Make sure you get yourself that notebook and make notes in a way that will help YOU and help YOU to remember the right way. ❤️ #laboranddeliverynurse #registerednurse #laboranddelivery #newgradlaboranddeliverynurse #tipsandtricks #rn

✨𝐀𝐏𝐆𝐀𝐑 𝐓𝐄𝐒𝐓✨⁣ Since I am starting off my nursing career as a NICU (𝘕𝘦𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘢𝘭 𝘐𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘊𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘜𝘯𝘪𝘵 ) nurse, I thought it would be fitting to talk about the APGAR test! ⁣ ⁣ This is one of the first assessments done after birth! This test evaluates how well the newborn is adapting to life outside the womb by looking at 5 different physiologic parameters. These parameters are: 𝐀ppearance, 𝐏ulse, 𝐆rimace, 𝐀ctivity & 𝐑espiration. Each category is scored with 0, 1, or 2; depending on the observed condition. The newborn is scored at 1 minute and again at 5 minutes after birth. If the newborn has a score less than 7, the baby is scored again at 10 minutes after birth. ⁣ ⁣ A score of 7 to 10 means the newborn is adjusting well! ⁣ ⁣ A score between 4 and 6 indicates that the baby needs a little help adjusting and may need some oxygen, suctioning and/or stimulation. ⁣ ⁣ A score of 3 to 4 indicates moderate depression and the newborn will need interventions such as oxygen and possibly an insertion of a feeding tube to decompress the stomach (this allows the lungs to expand properly to promote reabsorption of fluid and initiation of gas exchange ). ⁣ ⁣ A score of 3 or lower means the newborn needs immediate full resuscitation. ⁣ ⁣ 🚨 Remember!! Ventilation of the baby’s lungs is the most important and effective action during neonatal resuscitation!! 🚨⁣ ⁣ I have worked with so many different patient populations and have not seen resilience as I have with neonates! These lil babies are true fighters!! Having a low APGAR score isn’t fatal, it just proves that we all need a little help sometimes!! 🥰 Picture from @grepmed ! #nurse #nicunurse #nursing #registerednurse #education #patienteducation #medicine #health #healthcare #NRP #baby #neonate #laboranddelivery

... So I’ve been MIA lately. As I said in my previous post, I’m human. I constantly struggle with depression and anxiety, all while trying to grow as a wife, keep two tiny humans alive, work a full time job (as a registered nurse in the middle of a pandemic ), and sharing my passion for health & wellness. It’s a lot. I’m struggling. But I’m working on me, and I’m okay. It’s okay to not be okay. Last week I had a regular doctors appointment, or so I thought. ⁣ ⁣ I’m not going to go into details, however, I had a scary moment and feel the need to reflect. Cancer runs deep in my family..especially skin & breast cancer. To hear the words “let’s just get it checked out” is unsettling to say the least. ⁣ ⁣ Everything is good and I’m in the clear for now..but I’m sending a little PSA. DO NOT SKIP YOUR WELLNESS CHECKUPS. I could have missed something and it could have been too late. Preventative health is key and you’ll never regret it!

Some ppl are scared to be near me right now because I do work on a covid unit. It's understandable, and I respect everyone's decision, but to put your fears at bay I received my results yesterday......I'm Negative 🙌🏽......I'm telling you with the PPE shortage we have been beyond blessed, and covered by the blood even though we are consistently exposed. So since I'm negative I'll be looking into my next crisis assignment. Running it up all 2020. ~liquid calories~ I used to be TERRIFIED of drinking my calories. I hated to think that just by consuming lemonade or a milkshake that I would consume such a high amount of calories. all I drank was water and black coffee. never soda, never lemonade, and certainly never something like a starbucks frappuccino. but let me just say, liquid calories are AMAZING. this is one of the new summer drinks from starbucks, it’s the guava black tea lemonade. and oh my gosh y’all. this drink is SO GOOD. it literally is like happiness in a cup to me. did I still cringe when I saw the sugar content, but I’m only having one drink, I’m not having 7 whole lemonades. and this is a *treat yourself* kind of drink. you can have yummy drinks like this and have balance in your life. don’t limit yourself from a food you love just because you’re scared of the calorie content. if you’re worried about the sugar in this, ask yourself the reason why that is. is it because you don’t want the calories, or is it because you don’t want the cavities? I do understand the cavity aspect, hence why this is a treat yourself type of drink. but if it’s a calorie issue, remember that you are SO much more than a number on a scale, an amount of calories consumed per day, or the reflection you see in the mirror. the way I see things now, why not enjoy the things I love in moderation, and love my body and myself for all that I am and all that I have overcome? its so much better than being constantly at war with myself. 💚

♿️Wheelchair Bound?! 🦽 I’m not sure where/ when this terminology came about. I can tell you that no one that uses a wheelchair is “wheelchair bound”. We use our wheelchairs to get around. We use our chairs as a way to weave through the inaccessibility of the world. When you see a wheelchair, is your first thought to question the person’s ability as if it is hinged on the four wheels they are rolling on? Do you question how much each cool wheelchair you see costs? Did you know that wheelchairs like mine coast upwards of a small car and that you have to maintenance them more than a car! Understand that words give a definition: I’m not bound! I am a wheelchair user. We do not sleep all night or shower in our chairs. We are transferred out of them as needed making us BOUNDLESS! ❕❗️****All healthcare staff; I’m calling y’all out on this one! Please stop referring to patients as Wheelchair Bound******❕❗️

We spent this morning strolling around the old historic district in Mt. Pleasant looking at all the beautiful porches and houses decked out for the Fourth of July! I’m seriously loving my time here in Charleston (as usual ) exploring all the gorgeous places to social distance and walk! Sometimes it’s just nice to have a change of scenery 🇺🇸

You got this. The stressful hours before an exam, the endless hours of prepping for skills checkoff day, the lack of social interaction with your friends.. it’s tough, I know. ⁣ ⁣ But you’re building yourself to be such a kickass nurse - you’re honestly going to be so proud of yourself, trust me. So much of what you’re doing now is going to shape you into a critical-thinking, patient, hard-working, and resilient nurse. Your future patients are going to be so lucky to have you by their side🤍⁣ ⁣ You got this.⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ #studentnurse #nursingschool #nursingstudent #bsnrn #nurselife #nursesofinstagram #bsn #student #nursing #registerednurse #rnlife

Advice to Future/Pre/Current Nursing Students I’m about to do some real talk right now because of how passionate I am about this profession. I have 1 month left till I graduate so I feel somewhat qualified to give some advice to the baby nursing students starting out😭 • • 💉Be prepared you sacrifice your time. What I mean by that is you have school, social life, work but you can’t have all 3; only 2. It’s nearly impossible to tackle all 3, but if you can, so much power to you! 💉Discover your study habits NOW before starting your nursing courses because an established study habits will make it easier for you to retain the information. 💉Pathophysiology is your best friend and worst enemy. It will haunt you forever so get a good grip on it when you can and keep your notes! 💉Utilize online resources! I LOVE watching videos on YouTube from Registered Nurse RN, Cathy Parkes, Simple Nursing and Osmosis! • • this last one is a little straight up and real but I gotta say it... 💉 Please don’t pursue nursing for the money. Your passion and drive will slowly fade. It will be hard for you to go through school that you aren’t truly passionate in and that really goes for any major. • • Doodle by @doodlebykirs ⭐️; check my girl out! • • #nursingstudent #studying #nursingschool #nursingadvice #nursing #registerednurse
