👩‍⚕️Here’s my nursing journey: ⁣ ⁣ ⁣🔸2009: graduated high school ⁣ ⁣ ⁣🔸2010: applied to Nursing programs after finishing my nursing prereqs at a community college (yup, you read that right! ) ⁣ ⁣ ⁣🔸2011: Accepted into nursing program! Transferred to a Cal State Long Beach University (CSULB )⁣ ⁣ ⁣🔸2014: Graduated! Bachelors of Science in Nursing, Registered Nurse ⁣ ⁣ ⁣🔸2014-2018: PICU nurse, travel nurse, critical care float pool nurse, other fun life things⁣ ⁣ ⁣🔸2018: Started graduate program at CSULB ⁣ ⁣ ⁣🔸2020: Graduated, again! Master’s of Science in Nursing, Pediatric Nurse Practitioner ⁣ ⁣ ✨⁣I don’t have any wise words of wisdom or tips or tricks- all I can say is the path from 2009 when I started my track to being a nurse, to 2014 to graduating as a nurse, to 2020 becoming a nurse practitioner was an amazing and wild ride! ⁣ ⁣ ⁣🩺There were labs, dissections, exams, research papers, study groups, lectures, clinicals, graduations, new grad programs, night shifts, first codes, first compressions, first deaths, first mistakes, new friends, mentors, favorite patients, least favorite patients, long nights, early mornings, extra shifts, new hospitals, more clinicals, laughter, tears, studying, stressing, A GLOBAL PANDEMIC and finally, a quarantined graduation! ⁣ ⁣ ⁣🥰The community I made along the way & the kiddos I got to meet & care for through it all, made the crazy, wild journey worthwhile. ⁣ ⁣ ⁣✨But as one chapter ends, a new one begins! ⁣ ⁣ ⁣🙌Here’s to looking back on all we have accomplished & looking forward, ready to take on a new adventure! Proud of my accomplishment but ready to keep learning as a new PNP! ✨Please reach out if you have any questions about nursing, travel nursing or pediatric nurse practitioner! ✨😊 I’m here to share my passion for nursing & encourage others on their nursing journey! ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ 📷 by ->nurse_org

Last night, I had a dream about Elijah McClain and Kalief Browder. Woke up in a cold sweat and with a clenched jaw. Couldn’t shake how each story could easily be replaced with the name of someone I know and love. I kept thinking that mentioning their stories and how each was a result of the consequences of systematic racism - I could be met with ignorant rebuttals like “well what about black on black crime or what about this or that.” - In the hospital, if a physician is talking to me about Heart Disease, it would be silly of me to shout in the middle of the conversation “well what about Cancer!?” - it wouldn’t be relevant to the conversation at hand because THEY ARE SEPARATE ISSUES. - Nowadays, deflection (a psychological concept of changing the subject in order to bring attention to something else - often a characteristic of narcissism ) is rampant. Instead of focusing on the hard evidence of the systematic dehumanizing of black bodies as with police brutality (whether conscious or unconscious ) - people want to rant about things that are separate issues and are more times than not reflections of miseducation (i.e. look up the history of the coined phrase black on black crime ). - Anywho, if you cannot read a story without trying to defensively find a way to deflect from what is in front of you....if you are finding difficulty empathizing with the struggles of other communities (or even within your own )....then my dear you have work to do. > > >>Repost by @nurseidara

@student_nurse_riemah Over the past few years I’ve been working diligently while completely surrendering myself To a career that drives me the most. Through there are extreme challenges I face and obstacles I overcome, I am thankful for it all. I am going into my last semester of nursing school with even a more clear vision of why I wanted to become a nurse. Statistics have shown there is only 9.9% black nurses vs 75% white nurses in America. As a black American in this country this mean our voices are Not heard in the healthcare system. Which is the reason why a higher percentage of black women die from giving birth due to issues like pre-eclampsia reasons like why breast cancer death rates is 40% higher in black Americans And frankly why the underlying fear of the African/black American community even fear to seek healthcare today. Our voices must be heard throughout America so young or old black Americans I challenge you to dive deep find your purpose be resilient and use your voice🖤

Prince Albert Male Piercing Ring Reversal Fistula Repair Under Local Anesthesia The Prince Albert (PA ) is one of the most common male genital piercings. The PA is "a ring-style piercing that extends along the underside of the glans from the urethral opening to where the glans meets the shaft. The related "reverse Prince Albert piercing" enters through the urethra and exits through a hole pierced in the top of the glans. Proponents of PA piercing report that this type of body manipulation enhances sensual experience. However, this type of piercing can lead to significant complications, including infection, expansion of urethral tear & erosion. Men urinate through the hole that has been created (fistula ), which is often bothersome and embarrassing. If you have complications from Prince Albert piercing (urinary tract infections, pain, burning, erosion of urethra ), your partner wants you to remove it, or simple regret, Dr. Tajkarimi can safely reverse your fistula and repair the injury under local anesthesia in our fully equipped office operative suite in less than an hour. Dr. Tajkarimi has perfected this complex urethral repair so that it can be done with no pain and complications. Having it done in the office can save you thousands in hospital and anesthesia fees. The procedure will return your penis and urethra to its original "Pre-Prince Albert" shape. The procedure will take less than an hour and no general anesthesia is required. If you are interested to reverse your Prince Albert piercing and the urethral damage is not closing, you can contact us for a complimentary virtual or physical consultation. For more details, including pricing, contact us at info @novaurology .com or call 703-687-3601. #princealbertpierced #princealbertpierce #bodypiercings #penispierced #penispiercingsfromhell #urethralfistularepair #urologysurgery #urologynurse

Continuing our Men's Health discussions! For male specific cancers like Testicular and Prostate you may need a team of professionals to provide your care. Oftentimes, a primary care provider (family practice, internal medicine ) will be your starting point. Depending on your findings and/or complaints you may be referred to a urologist. Urologists are doctors who specialize in the urinary system. They are able to perform surgeries that may be needed. Oncologists are needed should your results show that you have cancer, especially if it is advanced. In some cases you may or may not need to receive chemotherapy and radiation. Any questions? #menshealthawareness #menshealthtips #menshealthmonth #menswellness #healthcareprofessional #specialists #pcp #internalmedicine #familypractice #themoreyouknow #healthadvocate #testicularcancer #prostatecancer #cancerawareness #oncology #oncologist #oncologynurse #oncologynursepractitioner #urology #urologist #urologynurse #cma #nurseeducator #nursewriter #nurseblogger #confessionscollaboration #confessions #confessionsofanursepractitioner #ccthenp #teachingthursday
