I bloody love social media 📱 I feel like that’s pretty evident from the amount I post and share online, and the amount I talk about it in my day to day life. If someone slates social media, I’ll always bounce back with something to defend it because I personally look at it in a positive way. It’s given so many people jobs, it’s allowed me to meet most of my friends, it can be used to educate myself, get creative, interact with my family across seas. I just love it🖤 ⠀ However, there is a side to social media that has subconsciously affected me, and I’m sure, most people who use it - perfectionism. This combined with the toxicity of diet culture has conjured an evil lil person that sits in the back of our minds telling us we have to look a certain way or do things a specific way to be deemed acceptable, worthy and loveable. My poor teenage heart would spend hours worrying about what I ate, what I wore and what other people would think if I did things that I love i.e starting a Youtube channel. No matter what age you are, I urge you to do that thing you’ve wanted to do forever. You’re not too old, you’re not too young to make a difference to your own life. You have the power to change your mindset and live your life for YOU…because I was living my life for others for too long and I can’t get that time back ⏱ ⠀ Most importantly, what I should have been focusing on was appreciating and loving myself throughout my teens. I should have been thanking my lil tummy for protecting me, my body for carrying me from one place to another, my heart for beating as I danced around. No matter what strangers, or even loved ones, say to you, no matter what stage in your journey, you need to check in on yourself. Are you happy? Are you living life for you? How can you live the life you desire? I’d guess most of us would say that someone/something is stopping us from achieving our goals but really it’s just ourselves. I know it’s not as easy, you cannot just dive head first into your dream career, life goal or path but it takes just one little step at a time. ⠀ “You have been criticising yourself for years and it hasn’t worked. Try approving of yourself and see what happens” 👯‍♀️

What kind of break should I take when I study without losing motivation? How can I take a break without getting distracted? Here are the different types of study breaks for every situation: 1. ) If you realize that you’ve been studying for hours: Get a snack, watch a short episode of your favorite show on Netflix, then back to the books. 2. ) If you feel stressed: Pause. Take a deep breath. Send a message to a friend. Get yourself together, then try again. 3. ) If you’re unable to focus: Go out for a walk and get some exercise. Do something productive- change your sheets, take a shower, clean the kitchen. It will reframe your mind and get you focused again. 4. ) If life’s drama can’t seem to get out of your mind: Write it down. What’s bothering you? Journal. Try and gain some new perspective after putting it on paper. 5. ) If you’re exhausted: Set your alarm for 30 mins and take a nap. When you wake up make some tea or coffee and start again. 6. ) If the material you’re studying is ridiculously boring: Study differently. Youtube the subject, draw it out, make it fun, add some color to your notes. 7. ) If the people around you won’t shut up: Put on your headphones and listen to music or white noise. Anything without lyrics to block out the sound around you. 8. ) If you’re only understanding half of the concept: Call someone who is not in your class (or pretend ) and try and teach them the material. Teach them everything you know. This will help your mind work through it and it’ll help you remember the material for the exam. In other words, macarons from Laduree will solve any burnout probs.
