Dear Will, There are so many things that I haven’t and don’t get right but there is one thing I got really right and that’s choosing you as the Father of my children. I didn’t know much about Fathering when we had children but our parenting journey together has taught me so much about the need and the importance of having a present, courageous and loving Father available. You taught me that a Father’s place is intricate and extremely specific and looks very different from Mothering and that’s the part I had to learn to respect. Thank you for respecting and ALWAYS supporting my Mothering which I have found to be one of your greatest super powers. I’m deeply grateful to you Will. I love you and Happy Father’s Day! I hope you guys will watch the Red Table Talk Father’s Day special as Will and I explore his Fathering journey. And I hope that there are Father’s out there that will feel more understood and appreciated after watching. STREAMING NOW. LINK IN MY BIO❣️

For our Colorism show on RTT... I wore a custom jumpsuit by one of my favorite Black female designers based in LA. Her name is Laurence Basse. For those of us who are really about the movement ... we have to start supporting Black owned businesses and other businesses owned by people of color in order to create an economic footing. Check out @laurencebasse and her online store❣️
During this time I often think about the many, many thoughtful debates Tupac and I would have around the relationship between racism, sexism, misogyny, poverty and how they all play a crucial part in the oppression of Black people and other communities of color so that capitalism could exist and thrive. We were tired of seeing our people at the bottom and we were in constant debate of the state of Black youth and what we needed to do to help change the condition of our community. We agreed and disagreed passionately but the one thing we had in common ... we shared a deep love for Black people and a commitment to do our best to spark minds and create change no matter how big or small. I think about what our conversations would be today. His words are still sooooo deeply relevant and inspiring as he watches from above as we march on. He would be so grateful for the courage and passion of the youth today. Happy Birthday Tupac Amaru Shakur✨
